Back to list of conditions treated by HBOT Plus

Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have found incredible success with the help of Hyperbaric Plus™.  To understand how our therapy can improve cranial function, it is first important to understand how a brain with ASD works. During your initial visit we will discuss Hyperbaric Plus™ treatment and how its lasting effects can improve the quality of life for nearly anyone who tries it.

Autism Brain Function

A brain without autism helps the person focus on the task at hand by connecting with the heart to increase blood flow to the brain, which delivers oxygen and glucose to the brain that help it complete the task. In autistic brains, it seems there is an opposite function. People with Autism – ASD experience a lack of blood flow to the brain when a task must be completed. For this reason, there are delayed or altered functions because there is not enough oxygen or glucose in the brain to fully complete the transaction.

This cranial function in those with autism leads researchers to believe it is because of cerebral hypoxia due to hypoperfusion. Cerebral hypoxia is improper oxygen delivery, while hypoperfusion is decreased blood flow.

In conjunction, brains with autism struggling to successfully complete tasks or comprehend emotions because of a lack of blood flow, another symptom that can be attributed to autism is inflammation of certain parts in the brain. Ever since Johns Hopkins University published findings on inflammation of the brain and a connection to autism in 2005, there have been many subsequent studies. Unfortunately, people with autism often have inflammation problems throughout the rest of the body and not just in the brain, such as the gastrointestinal system which leads to problems like diarrhea or constipation.

New Member Orientation

New Member Orientation at LyfeWell takes place on the second Saturday of every month and goes from 9am to 11am. There is no commitment necessary and no charge to attend.

The LyfeWell experience begins with a 45-minute orientation at a LyfeWell facility. These learning sessions equip our members with information and a “real world” view of how our modalities can help them, including an introduction to Hyperbaric Plus™.

As part of the orientation, members are given a tour of the LyfeWell facility, which allows plenty of time for interaction with key LyfeWell staff members.

We would love to give you a tour of our facility and share with you the benefits of selecting LyfeWell as your partner for better health.

Sign up to receive more information and confirm your spot at an upcoming new member orientation:
